San Diego Stadium Coalition’s Response to the CSAG Site Recommendation – March 12, 2015

The SDSC Looks Forward to Reviewing the Accompanying Financing Plan

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (March 12, 2015) – The San Diego Stadium Coalition appreciates the efforts of Mayor Faulconer and the Citizens’ Stadium Advisory Group to make a site recommendation for the construction of a new stadium in San Diego.

We look forward to reviewing the accompanying financing plan that will support the group’s recommendation.

Although our position is that the downtown site offers many more realistic options in terms of financing, community support and timelines, our primary goal has been, and remains, to get a world-class stadium built in San Diego.

When the CSAG’s financing plan is presented, we will review it carefully and thoroughly. If the plan is based on realistic assumptions, makes fiscal sense for the taxpayers of San Diego and the Chargers and includes buy-in from the key stakeholders, we will offer our full support to promote the Mission Valley site.
