Progress Report - 03/05/2009

General Progress
Members of the SDSC have met with various political and business interests in the County to gather additional information on the current state of the Stadium search. So far, the meetings have proven successful and there appears to be significant public support for our efforts among all groups affected by the stadium.  A meeting with the Executive Team and Chargers lawyer Mark Fabiani has been proposed for Mid-March and details are being firmed up. The SDSC would also like to host a live chat with Mr. Fabiani in March or April.

Additionally, major regional development groups have shown interest in our organization and we look forward to future meetings and discussions with those parties.
Finally, the website has proven to be a powerful tool for informing the public about the Chargers' stadium search and facilitating action with local leaders.
SDSU AD Meeting

SDSC's Director of University Relations will hold an in-person meeting with SDSU Athletic Director Jeff Schemmel next month. The purpose of this is to better understand the University's position on the Chargers stadium search and possibly leverage their community cachet to help further the cause
Executive Team

The group has assembled a core team of volunteers who will help drive the daily tasks in order for us to meet our long term goals. Each member has been designated as point person based on specific expertise. These Directors will then assemble their own teams to help them achieve specific goals within their domain.  Meetings are held among this staff on a weekly basis and in-person meetings are monthly.
Recruitment

The SDSC currently has over 250 Facebook members registered under two different groups and almost 100 members registered on the website as of 03.05.09. Recruiting is a significant part of the organization's short term goals as we seek to have 500 registered website members by 05.01.09
First Public Meeting and Presentation

The SDSC is planning to hold its first public meeting on 04.04.09 at Qualcomm stadium in section J1 at 1:00 PM. This will be a chance for us to share some information about the SDSC, hear from community members on how we can optimize our efforts and recruit new members to the organization. Details are being finalized for this meeting as well.
